Investing in the future of the Royal Victoria Hotel
With a rich history and spectacular landscapes on our doorstep, we’re committed to providing a warm Welsh welcome to visitors for years to come.
The Royal Victoria Hotel has been an important Llanberis landmark for generations. With a rich history and spectacular landscapes on our doorstep, we’re committed to providing a warm Welsh welcome to visitors for years to come.
That’s why we’re proud to invest in the future of our hotel. Over the last 3 years, we have dedicated over £500,000 to development and upkeep. Our investment aims to improve the experience for our guests whilst also supporting our region’s tourism.
Enhancing guest experience
The Royal Victoria Hotel has long been the perfect base for both adventure and relaxation. Whether you’re setting out to conquer Yr Wyddfa, exploring Llanberis or simply enjoying the scenery, we know that comfort and quality make all the difference.
Over the last few years, we’ve made significant upgrades throughout the hotel. From refreshing our classic rooms, to refurbishing our slate rooms, we’ve spent over £175,000 improving our bedrooms alone.
We’ve also invested £95,000 in modernising our public areas and corridors. We’re particularly proud of our updated bar area, which we’ve developed into a cosy, comfortable lounge where guests can enjoy a well-earned drink after a day of exploration in Eryri.
Making essential improvements
Running a historic hotel comes with unique challenges, but we continue to overcome them with forward-thinking improvements. Since 2022, we’ve invested over £230,000 in vital infrastructure upgrades, making the hotel more comfortable and efficient than ever before.
From upgrading our heating systems and windows to improve energy efficiency to modernising essential systems such as lifts and drainage, our investments help us improve guest experience and operate more sustainably.

A hotel rooted in community
The Royal Victoria Hotel has been a part of the fabric of Llanberis since 1830, and we take great pride in supporting our vibrant community and local tourism.
As the hospitality industry faces evolving challenges, we recognise how important reinvestment is for the success of our local area. Strengthening our hotel encourages tourism, supports jobs – with 100 of our employees being locals – and helps reduce our impact on the local environment. We also decorate the hotel with artwork crafted by local artists, including the fantastic Janet Bell.
We continue to support Visit Wales to promote Llanberis as a popular tourist destination.
Continuing our investment
We’ve dedicated more than half a million pounds to the development of the Royal Victoria Hotel over the last 3 years, and we’re not stopping there.
In 2025, we have ambitious plans to further upgrade our bedrooms, corridors and sustainability efforts. We hope that our continued investment provides even greater experiences for our guests, reduces our environmental impact and further supports our region’s tourism.
We’re looking forward to the future, and to welcoming both new and returning guests for many more unforgettable stays at the Royal Victoria Hotel Llanberis.
